Stores Person

ROLE

Due to our continued growth and success, we are looking for a Stores Person to join our busy team at our Head Offices in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

The successful candidate will be driven and motivated with a proven track record of working in a Stores environment. Reporting to the Stores Lead you will be responsible for all aspects of the Stores process including receiving materials, shelving, stock maintenance, stock counting & accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in a busy department & reporting to the Stores Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Processing Stores returns.
  2. Stock checking of material.
  3. Monthly stock checks
  4. Counter service for issuing materials, consumables & equipment to workshop operatives.
  5. Ensuring safe & environmentally sound working practices are adhered to.
  6. Receiving material in, checking incoming documentation & shelving parts.
  7. Checking goods delivered vs delivery documentation for discrepancies.
  1. Packing & preparing goods for dispatch.
  2. Prioritising workload as part of receipt program.
  3. Monitoring returned tools & equipment – report any damages to line manager.
  4. Ensuring goods are checked off in an accurate & timely manner & checked for damages / quantity.
  5. Allocating stock to projects, ensuring sufficient stock is available & on time.
  6. Loading & unloading incoming / outgoing vehicles.
  7. Keeping yard & stores clean & tidy with perimeter checks as necessary.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience of working in a similar Stores role
  • Flexible working approach
  • Material handling
  • Hands on with a can-do attitude
  • Good listener & team player.
  • Methodical & organised
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Forklift Truck Licence holder.
  • Must be computer literate to maintain stock accuracy.
