Having been a registered supplier on UVDB Verify for over a decade (Achilles ID: 00020953), Rayden Engineering Ltd (REL) has consistently demonstrated exceptional standards in Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality (SHEQ) and sustainability practices. This year, our audit results once again underscore our commitment to excellence:
We achieved perfect 100% scores in 7 out of 8 areas, with a near-perfect 99% for on-site Health & Safety. While this reflects a small margin for improvement, it demonstrates our relentless dedication to maintaining the highest standards possible across all operations. These results are a testament to the strength of our processes and the expertise of our team.

Achilles UVDB, launched in 1996, is the leading prequalification system for the UK’s regulated utilities sector.
By connecting utility companies with pre-qualified suppliers, the platform ensures compliance, promotes transparency, and upholds industry-leading health, safety, and environmental standards.
With over 68 key buying organisations and 6,200 qualified suppliers in its network, UVDB simplifies procurement by offering buyers access to a highly skilled supply chain.
Suppliers like REL undergo a rigorous independent assessment to verify compliance with stringent SHEQ standards, ensuring that only the most qualified companies are listed.
THE AUDIT PROCESS
Our annual audit involved a comprehensive two-day evaluation:
- Management Systems Assessment (MSE): Held at our Head Office in Ilkeston, this phase evaluated our internal policies, procedures, and controls. And we achieved perfect 100% scores in all categories during this stage.
- Site-Based Assessment: Conducted at our Cottam Power Station site near Retford, this phase focused on the real-world application of our systems and processes. We secured 100% scores in 3 out of 4 categories, with a 99% score in Health & Safety, highlighting a minor opportunity for enhancement.
Key areas of focus included SHEQ Management, and Sustainability. The audit was independently performed by an Achilles assessor, ensuring unbiased verification of our capabilities.
Our Quality & Compliance Director, Sam Kelly, and Health & Safety Manager, Andrew Parsons, spearheaded the process, ensuring seamless collaboration and preparation during the evaluation.
