We’re delighted to announce that we’ve achieved Cyber Essentials certification, reinforcing our commitment to protecting our IT systems, data, people and supply chain from cyber threats.
CYBER ESSENTIALS CERTIFIED

Cyber Essentials demonstrates that we meet a recognised UK Government-backed baseline for cyber security best practice and provides assurance to our clients, partners and wider supply chain that appropriate technical controls are firmly in place.
This certification confirms that cyber security is embedded within our business and that we have robust measures to protect sensitive information, support secure collaboration and reduce cyber risk across our operations.
WHAT IS CYBER ESSENTIALS?
Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed cyber security certification scheme, overseen by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), part of GCHQ. The scheme is designed to help organisations protect themselves against the most common cyber threats and to establish a clear baseline of technical cyber security controls.
The certification focuses on five key areas of cyber hygiene:
- Secure configuration of systems.
- Boundary firewalls & internet gateways.
- Access control & user privilege management.
- Malware protection.
- Patch management & secure updates.
Together, these controls help reduce exposure to cyber-attacks, safeguard sensitive information and improve overall organisational resilience.
WHY CYBER ESSENTIALS MATTERS
The cyber threat landscape continues to evolve, with UK SMEs increasingly targeted by phishing, ransomware and supply-chain attacks. As digital systems become more critical to day-to-day operations, maintaining strong cyber security is no longer optional – it is essential.
At Rayden Engineering Ltd (REL), we recognise the importance of staying ahead of emerging risks by combining best-of-breed cyber security solutions, robust governance and strong cyber hygiene practices. Cyber Essentials certification demonstrates that we are taking proactive steps to secure our systems, support our people and protect the data entrusted to us by our clients and partners.
This achievement also supports our wider commitment to operational resilience, compliance and responsible supply-chain management.

A WORD FROM SAM KELLY, QUALITY & COMPLIANCE DIRECTOR
Commenting on the achievement, Sam Kelly, Quality & Compliance Director at Rayden Engineering, said:
Achieving Cyber Essentials certification is a great result for the team and reflects the hard work that has gone into strengthening our cyber security controls.
Protecting our people, our data and our clients’ information is a priority for Rayden Engineering, and this certification provides independent assurance that the right foundations are in place as we continue to build on our cyber resilience.”
LOOKING AHEAD
Cyber Essentials certification is an important milestone, but not the end of our journey. In the coming months, we will be progressing towards Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+), a more advanced, independently audited certification.
Cyber Essentials Plus involves hands-on technical verification by qualified assessors, including vulnerability scanning and practical testing of systems and devices to confirm that cyber security controls are operating effectively in practice.
This next step will further strengthen our cyber resilience and ensure that REL continues to meet the highest standards of cyber security as threats, technologies and ways of working evolve.
