We’re delighted to announce that Samuel Tittensor, a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Operative and General Operative at our Hatton Compressor Station Upgrade project in Lincolnshire, has been named September’s winner of the Site Safety Incentive Scheme (SSIS).
This makes him the second recipient since the scheme’s launch in August.
ABOUT THE SITE SAFETY INCENTIVE SCHEME (SSIS)
The SSIS, introduced last month, encourages employees to identify and report workplace safety hazards while proposing improvements. Operatives submit Hazard Report Cards outlining their observations, and the Safety Committee – comprising of key project personnel – selects the best suggestion each month.
Winners are recognised for their contributions to safety with a £25 gift voucher, in appreciation of their efforts to improve site safety and foster a safety-first culture.
The winner can also be chosen for any outstanding contribution that is considered worthy of recognition by the team, even if it’s unrelated to a specific hazard report. In Samuel’s case, his win was based on his overall performance and dedication to the project.
ABOUT THE HATTON COMPRESSOR STATION UPGRADE PROJECT?
The Hatton Compressor Station is a critical hub in the UK’s National Transmission System (NTS), managed by National Gas Transmission. Located in Lincolnshire, the station plays a vital role in controlling gas flows across the country.
As part of a major upgrade, Rayden Engineering Ltd has been tasked with the mechanical and piping installation for the replacement of two aging gas turbines with a new, larger unit. This upgrade will improve efficiency, reduce emissions, and ensure compliance with modern environmental standards.
RECOGNITION OF SAMUEL’S CONTRIBUTION
Samuel was presented with a £25 Amazon gift voucher by Jake Marshall, Construction Manager at Hatton, in acknowledgment of his excellent performance throughout the month.
Glenn Read, Project Manager for the Hatton Compressor Station Project, praised Samuel for his dedication, saying:
“Sam has consistently demonstrated strong leadership throughout the project and has proven to be a vital asset. He frequently goes above and beyond by voluntarily overseeing material movements, MEWP operations, and organising small work crews. His proactive approach has made a significant difference.”
