We were proud to support the recent Pipeline Industries Guild Annual Dinner which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 12th March 2024.

Now in its 66th year, this prestigious event is a must attend occasion for everyone in the Pipeline Industry. As always, we were delighted to host a table for staff and guests on what was another memorable evening celebrating the successes of our industry.

A sellout third year running, the dinner was attended by around 1000 guests packed into the magnificent Great Room at the Grosvenor House Hotel. Delegates included leading figures and professionals from across all sectors, a variative who’s who of the industry.

Entertainment for the night included the fantastic Crystal Gospel Choir who opened their set blasting out the Pharrell Williams hit ‘Happy’. This set the tone for what was a truly fantastic evening of celebrating what’s good about our industry and catching up with friends old and new.

The Guild President, Jon Butterworth made a compelling welcome speech that was very well received. This took the feel-good factor to the next level with scenes of mass congratulations as all delegates in the room stood to say well done to person next to them.

"You design, you plan, you build and maintain the arteries of power - of water, of gas - without which, the UK would be absolutely nowhere. You should be proud. And this is the night when we get together and appreciate your work. You in this room are the lifeblood of our country."

As one of the event sponsors, we were proud to the see Rayden Engineering brand prominently displayed on the large screens dotted all around the venue and the support literature.

The Guild Chair, Rachel Bridge, gave further thanks to everyone in the industry and drew some of the loudest applauses of the evening. She got to the heart of the value we provide society: keeping industry supplied with energy, keeping homes warm and the lights on, delivering water and taking away waste.

"It’s not an overstatement to describe our industry as the fourth emergency service. So, thank you to everyone who takes pride in their work, deals with the emergency response at two in the morning on a bank holiday, and finds new and efficient ways to operate systems."

After-dinner entertainment was provided by multi award-winning comedian Romesh Ranganathan who’s opening gambit ‘Hello Pipers’ and unique brand of humour had the audience in hysterics.

Womens Wellbeing Charity logoThe Guild’s chosen charity for the evening was Wellbeing of Women. A women’s health charity saving and changing the lives of women, girls and babies through research, education and advocacy.

Caroline Christensen, head of philanthropy at the charity, made a rousing speech on the night to help raise awareness for this wonderful cause. Donations for the evening totalled more than £5,500, which is absolutely fantastic.

The Guild has set up an online donation page which is still open, should anyone still want to give, please see here.

The Rayden Engineering team and guests all enjoyed a truly fantastic evening. There was even time for some gambling using Guild fake money to play roulette table and blackjack or to test you golf skills on the crazy golf.

"It's important to take time to celebrate our remarkable industry and the valuable work we do, which sometimes goes unnoticed. We always look forward to The Guild’s fabulous Annual Dinner, an event that grows stronger each year. It's always an enjoyable evening and a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with everyone."

We’d like to extend a big thanks you to the Guild for organising another fantastic anniversary dinner and to our guest for joining us.

The Rayden Engineering team are already looking forward to attending next year’s 67th Annual Dinner.
