At Rayden Engineering Ltd (REL), we’re committed to continuous improvement in everything we do. Our latest Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) audit results reflect this, with consistent Very Good / Excellent scores across both our organisation and project sites.
WHAT IS THE CONSIDERATE CONSTRUCTORS SCHEME?
The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) is an independent, not-for-profit initiative that promotes best practice across the construction industry.
Organisations commit to the Code of Considerate Practice, focusing on three key areas:
- Respect the Community
- Care for the Environment
- Value the Workforce
REL has been a registered member since 2018 (Company ID 2288), with CCS embedded across our operations and forming part of our wider approach to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
RECENT AUDITS & PERFORMANCE
Over the past year, our performance has been independently assessed against industry best practice across both our organisation and project sites, demonstrating strong results and clear improvement.
ORGANISATION REGISTRATION (HEAD OFFICE & HELLABY)
Over a six-month period, CCS audits were carried out across both our Ilkeston Head Office and Hellaby project office in Rotherham, reflecting performance across our wider organisation.
Our Hellaby site forms part of a Cadent led programme to replace critical slam shut valves across key gas network installations. The works are delivered under live conditions, using temporary bypass systems and carefully controlled methodologies to maintain uninterrupted gas supply.
The audit results for each location are as follows:
- Ilkeston Head Office – August 2025: 38/45 (Very Good)
- Hellaby Project Office – February 2026: 38/45 (Very Good)
This resulted in an overall combined organisation score of 38.6/45 (Very Good), supported by the following category scores:
- Community: 12.3/15 (Very Good)
- Environment: 13.5/15 (Excellent)
- Workforce: 12.8/15 (Very Good)

SITE REGISTRATION – SHOTTON MILL PROJECT
Two CCS audits were carried out over a six-month period at our Shotton Mill project in North Wales, tracking performance from early delivery through to later-stage construction.
Delivered for Eren Holding as part of a £1 billion redevelopment, the project involves the installation of a new gas infrastructure network. This includes pipelines, a Pressure Reduction Station (PRS) and Above Ground Installations (AGIs) to support a hydrogen-enabled Combined Heat and Power facility within a live industrial environment.
Audit results for each visit are shown below:
- July 2025: 36/45 (Very Good)
- December 2025 (Re-audit): 40/45 (Excellent)
Within just six months, the Shotton Mill site achieved a significant uplift in performance, moving to Excellent across all categories.
Across both visits, the project achieved an overall combined score of 38/45 (Very Good), with particularly strong results across key areas:
- Community: 10.5/15 (Very Good)
- Environment: 14.5/15 (Excellent – near perfect)
- Workforce: 13/15 (Excellent)

This demonstrates how feedback has been quickly embedded, with clear improvements delivered in a short timeframe.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IN ACTION
Across all audits, key strengths were consistently recognised:
- Excellent environmental performance
- High standards of site organisation and safety
- A committed, engaged workforce
Most importantly, these results highlight our ability to respond, adapt and continually improve.

A WORD FROM OUR HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER
Andy Parsons, our Health & Safety Manager, shared his thoughts on the results:
"These results reflect the commitment of our teams across both site and office environments.
What’s particularly encouraging is the progress demonstrated at Shotton Mill - turning feedback into action and achieving excellent results in such a short space of time.”

We remain firmly focused on building further upon our performance by:
- Strengthening community engagement.
- Driving environmental improvements.
- Investing in our people & workplace standards.
