We’re proud to announce that we’ve achieved top marks in our recent Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) re-assessment, held in June 2024.
Scoring an impressive 38 out of 45 points, or 84.4% for our overall performance, we’ve secured a Very Good / Excellent rating, placing us among the top-performing construction companies in the UK. As a result, we’re now CCS certified for another 12 months.
ABOUT THE CCS
We’ve been a proud member of the CCS for over 7 years, first registering back in April 2018 under Company ID2288.
The scheme is championed internally by our Health & Safety Manager, Andrew Parsons.
The CCS is an independent, Not-for-Profit organisation that works side-by-side with the construction industry and the public to help raise standards and build trust in construction.
Founded in 1997, the initiative is solely financed by its members. A voluntary scheme with over 5,500 sites, suppliers and organisations registered, it promotes a best practice framework that helps deliver high standards and accountability within the construction industry.
CCS is nationally recognised and recommended by Local Authorities, the Government, main Contractors, and major Industry Clients.
Members sign up voluntary and commit to abide by the schemes Code of Considerate Practice, which promotes respect, care and value of the local community, environment, and workforce. The Code is designed to encourage companies to adopt best practice processes and procedures so they can continually self-improve.
CCS focuses the three key areas, as follows:
Respect the Community
Constructors must manage their impact on their neighbours and the public to support a positive experience.
Care for the Environment
Constructors must minimise their impact and enhance the natural environment.
Value the Workforce
Constructors must create a supportive, inclusive, and healthy workplace.
WE'RE CCS RATED AS VERY GOOD / EXCELLENT FOR 2024
As part of the renewal process, we’re audited annually at our head office site in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
This year we were visited in June by Scheme Monitor, Katharine Salisbury, who re-assessed us against the CCS Code of Considerate Practice framework.
We’re extremely pleased to share that we achieved top marks across all three key areas, with a total score of 38 out of 45 – an increase of 2.5 points from last year.
The assessment rated our overall performance as Very Good / Excellent at 84.4%, placing us well within the top-performing UK construction companies.
Rayden Engineering continues to demonstrate Very Good standards in relation to the Code of Considerate Practice, with Excellent practices in the Community and Workforce sections and Very Good in the Environment section. It’s a company committed to the principles of the CCS Code, with a drive for continuous improvement in all areas.”
Katharine Salisbury, CCS Monitor
Katharine also commended us on some of the improvement initiatives we have established over the past year, such as Men’s Health and Menopause awareness sessions, and mental health First Aiders training.
“I’m thrilled that we've surpassed last year’s score, showing our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement of the CCS Code of Practice. We’re proud to be part of this fantastic scheme - it’s something we deeply value and fully integrate into our business. It forms part of the external independent monitoring processes for our Integrated Management Systems, HR, H&S, Quality, Environmental, and CSR strategies.”
