SGN - Kincraigie Fieldworks 150mm HP Steel Pipeline Diversion

Kincraigie Fieldworks 150mm HP Steel Pipeline Diversion.

Client:     SGN                 Dates: December 2013 - July 2014

We carried out the installation of a 1.9km in length steel 4” diameter 19bar gas pipeline diversion as a permanent solution to the erosion that was taking place at the bank of the River Tay. Part of the fieldworks included decommissioning the bypass and reclaiming the 4"/6" pipe as well as two 4" ball valves. This part of the works involved the pipeline being run within the fields alongside the B898.  This contract was brought forward a few months due to the heavy rainfall experienced at the end of 2013. The Banks of the River Tay were receding faster than previously expected and there was a concern that the pipeline would be washed out. We started on site in December 2013 but then had to pull off due to the site being flooded. We completed these works at the end of July 2014.

Plumley to Backford CP Project.

Client: Costain                 Dates: November 2013 - July 2014

We replaced all existing CP Stations (locations that provide Cathodic Protection Current to the Pipeline) and then added 5 new locations along the B/B(W) pipeline system.

We procured all CP materials for the works, and carried out the replacement of of 12 CP Stations, with the construction of 5 new CP Stations. The works required the construction of the associated CP Groundbeds, pipeline excavations for new pin braze connections, installation of new pipeline & groundbed header cables & CP monitoring cables, installation and termination of new CP test post facilities, along with the construction of the new CP Kiosks and their associated concrete foundations.

Office Refurbishments are underway!!

Due to the influx of more works and the swell in personnel numbers we are now refurbishing an old second floor store room into luxurious office accomodation for our Quality and Contracts Teams. This will include the Quality, Safety and Environmental team as well as the Estimating and Purchasing Team. We are very much looking forward to welcoming visitors to our new office once it is complete in the New Year. The old offices are then also being renovated to allow a new meeting room and training facility to be developed shortly afterwards.
